Flowers are usually of secondary interest in indoor and even outdoor car parks. This collection features roses. Although not a native Holy Land (Israeli) flower, with appropriate care, it can do well in a much warmer, dryer climate than its native Europe. Nearby to our home is a car park with a few flower beds featuring roses. Flowers here are somewhat out of context because there is a striking absence of surrounding grass. But these beds of roses play a strategic role in adding nature and color to the bustle of parking and exiting vehicles. Much of the credit for their existence here is due to the continuous care given them by a resident Yachad Shifman who took on their care as an act of love.
